"Honey, I'm home!" Bernard called, slamming open the door to the dorm room he and Tim shared. He dropped his bag on his bed and collapsed onto Tim's bed with a sigh. "You will not believe the day I've had, darling," he said.

"Shut up," Tim grumbled, elbowing Bernard and rolling over.

Bernard glared at him. "I think I'm offended," he said. "Here I am, coming to gripe and groan about how miserable my day has been and you – "

"Aching everywhere. Up all night. Need sleep," Tim groaned.

"Oh," Bernard said quietly. "Well, did you catch whoever you were after?"

"Uh huh. 'triloquist's going back to Arkham," Tim said.

Bernard nodded, then wrapped his arms around Tim.

Tim tensed. "What're you doing?" he asked.

"Snuggling," Bernard said. "You looked like you could use it."

Tim raised his head and blinked at Bernard for a minute.

"Yeah, okay," Tim said. He curled into Bernard.

"This is nice," Bernard said. "Don't you think so, Tim?"

Tim only snored in response.

Bernard smiled softly and rested his chin on Tim's head. He could finish wooing the elusive Tim Drake another time. Until then, he could just enjoy how nicely Tim fit in his arms.

And shove worries that Tim wouldn't survive long enough to start dating him to the back of his mind.

Bernard suppressed a shudder and pressed a kiss to the top of Tim's head. Tim was asleep. He wouldn't notice…

But Robin would. In a second, Bernard found himself pinned to bed, Tim glaring at him stonily.

"Tim!" Bernard said quickly. "It's me!"

Tim blinked. "Bernard?" he asked.

"Yes! Please don't kill me!"

"Bats don't kill," Tim said blearily. He collapsed back onto Bernard's chest. "Did you kiss my head?"

"Um," Bernard said. "No?"

"You did," Tim said. "Why'd you do that?"

"I…" Bernard trailed off. He couldn't quite bring himself to finish.

"Are you in love with me?" Tim asked quietly.

"Yes," Bernard whispered.

Tim propped his chin up on Bernard's chest and smiled tiredly at him. "Cool. We can start dating tomorrow. Now I'm going to sleep."

"I – what?" Bernard blinked at Tim in surprise. "Wait, what?"

"Sleep," Tim said resting his head back down. "Shut up before I change my mind."

Bernard hugged Tim gently and glared at him. Tim was cute, sure, and Bernard was in love with him, but damn if he couldn't be a real bastard sometimes.

"Booster!" Ted shouted, poking his head in the door. "You have to come outside! Bea and Guy are having a snowball death match over Tora!"

"No thanks," Booster said, wrapping himself more firmly in his quilt blanket. "Too cold. I'm staying here by the fire with hot cocoa, thank you very much."

Ted glanced reluctantly outside, then stepped back inside. He pulled off his hat, gloves, scarf, coat, snow pants, and both sweaters, then walked over to Booster. "Okay, fine," he said.

Booster looked up at him and scowled. "You're blocking my heat."

"Aren't you a sweetie," Ted said. "Come on, let me in."

"Oh," Booster said. He lifted up the quilt and let Ted settle down on his lap.

"Much better," Ted said, petting Booster's leg with his foot.

"Ted!" Booster complained, squirming. "Your foot's all cold! All of you's all cold!"

"It's because I've been outside having fun," Ted said. "You're supposed to like fun, Boost."

"I like fun," Booster said. "Warm fun."

"Hot, sweaty fun?" Ted asked.

"That's very fun," Booster agreed.

"You'll have to settle for slightly chilly, cuddly fun for now," Ted said. "I've been dodging Sue's snowballs with her Elongated slingshot of a husband. I'm exhausted."

"You're making me all cold!" Booster said.

Ted leaned his head up and kissed Booster. "You taste like hot cocoa," he said.

Booster sighed, and curled around Ted. "Could you stop being so adorable? It makes it hard for me to stay pissy at you."

"Oh, so sorry," Ted said, leaning back on him. "Poor you, having an adorable boyfriend."

"I FOUND THEM!" Guy shouted. "TED'S HIDING INSIDE WITH BOOSTER!"

"Huh?" Ted and Booster looked up just in time to get hit in the face by a green, glowing shovelful of snow.

"Hey!" Ted shouted. "Inside is designated not playing zone!"

"They made my hot cocoa cold!" Booster said dismally.

Ted stood up and offered Booster a hand. "Want to make them pay Blue and Gold style?

Booster let Ted pull him up. "Oh, hell yes," he said. "It is so totally on."

"You've been off tonight, Robin," Tim said.

Lian shrugged, leaning back against her gargoyle. "I'm fine, Batman," she said.

"Dick told me you were crying last night and wouldn't tell him or Roy what was wrong."

"It's nothing big," Lian said. "I can still fight."

"Look, ignoring my concern for the Mission, you can tell me anything," Tim said. "I know I'm not always the most comforting figure but," he gave her a half smile. "I have a lot of experience keeping secrets."

Lian sighed. "I don't want to talk about it," she said.

"Yes you do," Tim said.

Lian glared at him. "I hate when you do that."

"Tell me what's wrong," Tim said.

"Fine." Lian wrapped her cape around herself protectively. "It's Melanie."

"Your girlfriend?" Tim asked.

"Not anymore," Lian said sadly.

"Oh, Lian," Tim said. He opened his arms. "Come here. I know how hard breakups are, especially your first."

Lian sniffled and did a quick jump over to hug Tim tightly. "Batman hugging," she said, biting back sobs. "What'll people say?"

Tim laughed quietly. "That he had to comfort Robin after she had her first breakup."

"I thought I loved her, Tim," Lian said. "And she dumped me for some guy."

Tim nodded and rubbed her back comfortingly. "It's hard," he said.

"Batman! Robin!" the new Green Lantern said, flying over to them. "I – were you guys hugging?"

Tim did his best batglare. "Don't be ridiculous, Green Lantern. What did you want?"

"Uh, actually, I just needed Lian. Titans business."

Lian nodded. "What is it, Milagro?"

"Haste's in trouble," Green Lantern said. "She sent out a distress call."

"Iris? No!" Lian said. "We've got to save her! Her brother know?"

Green Lantern nodded. "I've got Kid Flash and Superboy racing to the tower. We've got to pick up Sparrow and Batgirl and go."

"I – " Lian glanced at Tim. "Can I go?"

Tim nodded. "You'll be okay?"

Lian nodded. "I have to be," she said. "Iris needs me. And she – she's Iris. She's my best friend."

Tim nodded. "Good luck," he said. He watched his Robin and Green Lantern fly off. Then he picked up his communicator. "Bart?" he said. "I win the bet. Our sidekicks are definitely going to end up dating sooner or later."

"What?" Bart asked. "How do you know?"

"Lian's acting the same way about Iris that I used to in regards to you," Tim said.

"Oh," Bart said. "Wow. Hope they work out."

"We did," Tim said.

"Still," Bart said.

"Yeah," Tim said, "I know. Batman out."

"Bye, Batsy," Bart said.

Tim stretched and jumped off the roof. There was crime to fight. He couldn't rest any longer.
