If Jason became Batman's sidekick before Dick, what name would he use? Robin is not allowed, nor is Red Hood.

Also, what might his costume have looked like?

It seems like it shouldn't have a bird theme, since Robin set the trend for that one. It's hard to see Post-Crisis Jason tolerating "Batboy" or "Batlad", though. I think the CSA!Verse Tim's name is 'Talon', IIRC; you could go with something like that, "Claw" or "Fang" or something. Jason also has a sense of humor, maybe he'd like something like "the Rat" since he's a street rat and bats are sometimes called 'flying rats'. Just some ideas.

Yeah... none of them are quite what I'm looking for, I think. Talon's already in use, "Batman and Claw" or "Batman and Fang" don't ring right, same with "Batman and the Rat," plus it doesn't sound superheroic.

I don't really want to go with a name that's already in use. Zoe suggested Harrier, which is kind of growing on me, though I'm not sure it's gettable enough. Maybe Falcon. Blackbird's one of the ones I thought of when I was first addressing the question, but I'm not sure I like it.

I know that doesn't have to stop you - I rather like Harrier - but since you didn't want to use Talon because it was taken I thought you might like to know. Esther-Channah (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/510381/Esther-Channah) used it in Locked Inside the Facade (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2511175/1/Locked_Inside_The_Facade) and/or it's sequels (about Bruce in Arkham, and his recovery - and quite good, at that.)

Hmm. Batman and Viper. Maybe. I don't think making it bird related is bad necessarily. I mean, it definitely doesn't have to be bird-related, but I think there's no reason it can't, if I can think of a good one.
