ETA: Nothing to see, move along...
Oct. 6th, 2009 07:38 pmYou may have noticed I'm writing very little fanfic these days. Time was I was cranking out two or three fics a week. Now you're lucky for one a month, and that's not including drabbles because I don't count drabbles.
( If you are lazy, you can skip this. )
It's really not difficult to connect me to my lj name. There aren't so many Shanas in the world, and for a long time shananagin was a username I used with things that were connected to me. I am proud of almost everything I've written here, but I don't really want, say, DC Comics editors stumbling across my Bart/Cthulhu story when they're thinking about whether or not to hire me. This leads me with two choices. Buy a rename token, or go through all my old stuff and lock the fanfic that I'd rather not be connected to me professionally. I don't want to do this. I hate going through other people's journals and finding there are fics I can't read, and this would be most of the porn, and a lot of the slash. Though not the Cable/Deadpool talky one. That's too brilliant to hide.
That being said, I will friend everyone and anyone who wants to read my stuff if I do this. I don't want to make my stuff unavailable, just harder to find.
This might happen this weekend. I don't know.
We'll see.
Thoughts? Advice? Oh, mighty f-list, tell me what you think.
