Cass knew Batman was wrong about Steph.

“Ow! Be gentle,” Steph said, but Cass only smirked and rubbed more disinfectant into Steph’s wound..

Steph loved playing checkers with Cass because there was no body language to give away her next move.

Cass could never stay mad at Steph, especially when she could see in Steph's body language exactly how repentant Steph was.

"I sometimes wonder what happened to my baby," Steph whispered to Cass as they lay together in Steph's room.

"Now!" Steph shouted, and they jumped out together to fight.

They hid together in the shadows, giggling and trading kisses, hoping that no one would see them.

Cass had learned to withstand immense amounts of pain, but she couldn't say goodbye to Steph at the funeral without crying.

"It's a game," Steph said. "I'll hide, and you find me."

"That was totally luck," Steph said when Cass found her.

"You're hurt!" Steph said, as Cass collapsed in her arms, but Cass knew that she was safe now that Steph was there.

When things got bad, almost too bad to handle, a ghost of Steph would visit Cass and help her make it through.

"Here," Steph said, "I'll help you read it."

Cass' eyes were sore, but she didn't want to disappoint Steph, so she kept reading, word after word after word.

"It was never this good with Tim!" Steph gasped.

Cass knew she was the only person who would ever see how Steph's body sang in the throes of passion.

35. Sudden

"Love...you..." Cass said suddenly.

36. Stop

"What did you say?" Steph asked, stopping short.

Cass repeated herself, and this time, Steph heard her.

Cass carefully washed the blood off Steph's arm.

Cass carefully mended the tear in Steph's costume because she wanted to see how happy it would make Steph.

"If you look at history, you'll see that Batgirl and Robin always end up dating," Steph said, "like Dick and Babs."

"You're so powerful," Steph whispered.

Steph wondered sometimes if her incessant chattering bothered Cass, but when she asked, Cass shook her head and kissed Steph.

"Do you believe in God?" Steph asked, but Cass only gave her a blank look.

Cass pushed Steph against the wall and kissed her, pulling off her clothes piece by piece.

45. Naked

When both of them were naked, Cass stepped back to just look at Steph's beautiful, scarred body.

Steph gasped as Cass used her tongue to drive her nearly mad with pleasure.

47. Harm

"No one...harm...you," Cass said slowly, "Won't...let...them."

48. Precious

Cass had one of Steph's old masks, and it was more precious than gold for the memories it brought.

49. Hunger

"Let's get ice cream!" Steph said, pulling Cass out of the Clock Tower.

50. Believe

"I do believe I love you too, Miss Cain," Steph said, wrapping an arm around Cass as they sat on a roof under the stars.
