museofspeed: (Bart/Tim)
[personal profile] museofspeed
Well, I'm off to England for the next week. I'll possibly post something or another occasionally, but not nearly as often. Keep writing for the porn thing, even though I'll probably not be able to read them very often. But! I shall not leave you empty handed! Here's a ficlet!

Title: I Smell Burning
Fandom: Young Justice
Characters: Bart/Tim, Bernard/Carol
Prompt: For [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100 36. Smell, for [livejournal.com profile] dcu_freeforall: 5. heat vision
Word Count: 405
Rating: PG-13
Summary: It's Tim's birthday.
Author's Notes: Okay, I'm a little late for Tim's birthday on 19 July, but here's a JusticeVerse fic in celebration!

"So remind me again why we're letting Carol cook?" Tim asked.

"Bart's not allowed near the oven, it's your birthday, and I always cook," Bernard said.

"Does Carol know how to cook?" Tim asked.

"She said it's just like chemistry," Bart said.

"She's going to blow up the kitchen," Tim moaned. "And we only just got the oven fixed from Bart's last attempt!"

"Look, how was I supposed to know that vibrating the oven would make it fall apart?" Bart asked. "I though it'd make it go faster!"

"Your husband's insane," Bernard said to Tim. "You should break up with him and date me."

Bart moved too quickly for either of them to see. Before Tim could blink he was on Bart's lap and being held possessively.

"Carol!" Bart yelled. "Your husband's hitting on my husband again!"

Carol poked her head into the room. Her face was red and sweaty and her hair was disheveled. There was batter on her elbow. "Bernard, dammit, you said you'd behave!"

Bernard looked up at her innocently. "But he's unreasonably attractive!"

"I know, but Bart would be sad if we stole him."

Bart hugged Tim. "He's my unreasonably attractive guy."

Tim rolled his eyes.

"We could have an orgy!" Bernard said.

"Yeah," Carol said. "What do you say, Bart? Up for sharing?"

"Don't I have any say in this?" Tim asked.

"Course not," Bart said. "And no, he's mine." He stuck out his tongue.

"Carol, dear," Bernard said. "Something's burning."

"What?" Carol ran back into the kitchen. "Dammit!"

"Should we call Alfred yet?" Tim asked.

"Give her ten more minutes," Bernard said.

"He's probably got something for us already," Bart said. "He's good like that."

"Fair enough," Tim said.

"Hey, how's Hel doing?" Bernard asked. "Scourge of the Gotham underworld yet?"

"I certainly wouldn't want to cross her," Bart said. "She's like Tim was, but a girl and insane."

"Plus she's got a whip," Bernard said. "Seriously scary."

"But cute, in a scary way," Bart said.

"That's my little sister you're talking about," Tim said. "And her training's certainly progressing. Bruce still hates that she goes out at all."

"He's kinda a hypocrite," Bart said. Tim whacked his head. "What? It's true!"

"He's just protective of her," Tim said.

"Yeah, yeah," Bart rolled his eyes.

Then the smoke alarm went off.

"Everything's fine!" Carol shouted.

"Time to call Alfred?" Bernard suggested.

"I think that'd be best, yes," Tim said.
