LIMERICK MEME
Jan. 2nd, 2011 01:04 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I just went through a lot of my old fics and f-locked the ones that made me ashamed. It was fun! And there were a lot that I actually thought were good, so that was fun too, and now I'm going to do the rereading stuff I wrote in the past thing.
And while I'm at it, I found these and these (both at least mildly NSFW) and felt inspired. So I've started a new meme!
Leave me a pairing, or just a character or two, and I'll write you a limerick.
It'll be awesome.
GO.

Date: 2011-01-02 06:34 am (UTC)Someday, I'm gonna write a sonnet from Spike to Buffy.
It'll be amazing.
And by "amazing" I mean intentionally overwrought.

Date: 2011-01-02 06:21 am (UTC)There once were two birds of a feather
Who patrolled through all sorts of weather.
When fighting some crime,
They'd have a good time,
For each brother the other would tether.

Date: 2011-01-02 06:33 am (UTC)There once was a boy made of Steel.
An arrow's light prick made him reel!
Oh, it wasn't Cupid!
(That would just be stupid.)
Twas Cissie who made him thus feel!
There once were two crime-fighting bros.
Who put each other before hos.
Their bromance was strong,
and it wasn't long
till they dropped the "b" (and their clothes)!
There once was a hero who quit.
Her friends wouldn't let go of it.
But Robin, he saw
she'd lost that last straw.
And love in her heart soon was writ.

Who both had some skill with a pen.
They wrote with great care
To two ladies fair,
But they both were alone in the end.

Who'd always do wrong over right.
A princess he served.
His heart never swerved.
He owed his great strength to her bite.

Date: 2011-01-03 03:34 am (UTC)And it was mostly the sketchy porn and the stuff written when I was just starting out, though even then not all of it.
I think I will make a post soonish about my changing feelings on slash in general. I've been wrestling with it lately.

Date: 2011-01-03 03:50 am (UTC)But I think my post will explore my feelings on it, then end up with me deciding that screw other people, I'll write what makes me happy, dammit. Het, slash, femslash, or other, I've never cared about other people's judgmental glares before! So long as it feels in character, I'm doing it right.

Date: 2011-01-03 04:00 am (UTC)I'm eager to hear what you say on the subject. The last post you made about secondary characters in fic was just amazing. I feel the EXACT same way and try to be sure that the friendships in my stories are presented as just as important as the romantic relationships.
I've never really seen dc fandom as JUDGEMENTAL about TYPES Of pairings. I mean, I've never gotten shit for writing Slash, femslash, het, threesomes or gen. It's certain pairings you sometimes get shit for. Tim/Tam for example. >:(
I don't remember who it was, but someone said something a long the lines, "It's better to write with your soul and have no audience than writer for an audience and have no soul."
Write for the JOY of it, Shana. That's what I do. Any love I get along the way is incidental. I'd keep it up if no one EVER read my stuff. <3

Date: 2011-01-03 04:51 am (UTC)Yeah, I really love gen these days. I don't know, like I said in it, realizing that in the fanfic of my life, I'd be slashed with people who are very clearly just friends, or even relatives, definitely made me start clinging a bit clser to canon.
Yeah, the judging comes more from my newer fandom friends, who aren't even really a specific fandom, but they don't like slash. To be fair, a lot of them are into Supernatural, and that fandom gets terrifying, especially the slash. And I've never really gotten shit for it, but I've sometimes... not wanted to mention it. (I think once someone linked to an image someone had drawn for one of my fics as an example of "Oh god, the internet!" and I just went... :-/)
I love Tim/Tam. They're cute.
Awww, that's a very nice way to put it. I think I've definitely been guilty of the latter. I'm an attention whore sometimes, and I do love the love. These days, of course, I don't do much of any kind of writing. It's sort of sad.
