Second - Sorry to all the people to whom I promised drabbles. Turns out my NaNoWriMo withdrawal is seriously harshing my jibe and drabble prompts aren't helping. I may finish more later...but I wouldn't count on it.

Third - Anyone interested in roleplaying Cassie for on_thecouch? Because I play Kon there and we really, really need one. Poke me on AIM if you're interested. I'm Shananagin1618 and I'm always on. This might be felonazcorp's fault.

Fourth - Anyone watching the new TV Show Merlin? Because it's very, very gay. Historically inaccurate to a point that I've got to tell myself it's an AU just so I can sit through it, but very gay.

Uther Pendragon = stubborn old bastard.
Arthur Pendragon = a dick, but a noble one.
Morgana = Possibly lesbian.
Gaius = Morgan Freeman, except white.
Merlin = an idiot and a dork.
Guinevere = adorable and a dork.

I would totally help you out, but I've never roleplayed and I've only ever read one thing with Cassie in it. And that was the most recent issue of Teen Titans. Well, I guess I read the scans on scans_daily, too.

And np about the drabble thing! I am personally surprised you can write anything after Nano. :)

I would. I actually kinda want to. But I don't know what happens to her after YJ. And I've never participated in a comm like that before. But, hey, gotta start somewhere, I guess. If people can deal with my average writing abilities, then yeah.

Trust me, I spend half my time thinking my Dick and Dinah are just entirely wrong, and I think they're okay, but I'm never totally sure.

Actually, the last issue's Cassie was surprisingly un-Skrully, but I doubt it'll last...

Still have a JBBS and WFGE fic to write (done with Yuletide and 3-ships, wee!), so probably not a good idea to take on more. XD

Don't worry about the drabble. I know how hard it is to get your muses back in gear after something like that. :)

Cassie Sharp was an amateur geologist until she had a brush with death in Death Valley. She was part of The Hybrids as Scirocco, and had powers involving wind and sand. Her team were unwilling Titans villains, forced to fight them by Steve Dayton a.k.a. Mento a.k.a. Gar Logan's Third Big Inheritance. (There's evidence that she was killed in combat in Roulette's House. She's listed on the Wall of the Fallen.)

Y'know, all of the Hybrids wound up getting given powers after accidents (that Dayton seems to have engineered) and were basically decent people. One of them, Curt Calhoun, worked for Ted Kord. He was the foreman of the metallurgy lab at Kord Omniversal Research and Development, Inc., and if he hadn't pushed Ted out of the way, we might have wound up with a metal-skinned Blue Beetle. I had forgotten that little detail.

I don't think I could play Cass Cain. If I'm going to play a mute hero, it'd be Joey Wilson. ;3

(I'm actually not big on the femslash -- strange, I know, since I am myself big the ladies -- and I always loved Dinah and Ollie. I sometimes love Babs and Dick, although I kinda loved Dick and JoeyKory more... Babs/Dinah sorta works for me, I guess? I mean, I can see it, it's got a decent amount of circumstantials and subtext, moreso than many slash pairings. I don't know that I could play femslash, is the thing.)

I suppose I should also mention that I already play Dinah, off-LJ. Joey, too, for that matter. Also Donna Troy, various and sundry other Titans and Titans-related characters, and about half post-boot Legion of Superheroes. But I haven't been active for something like two years. :(

I play Dinah, and she and the Babs we had previously had a relationship somewhat established before Babs vanished. I like Dick and Kory too, and Babs and Dick, but not Dinah and Ollie...actually have major problems with Dinah and Ollie. But yeah, if it was Babs but NOT femslashy, would sort of be an issue, since my Dinah is definitely in love with Babs. Which could be fun and angsty! But oy, I put them through so much!

Picture me, wincing. I wouldn't want to put Dinah through that, no.

It's funny, I actually wouldn't care much for Dinah if not for Ollie. See, it's her characterization in the Green Arrow/Green Lantern trades, and even more in Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters that made me like her, and I read those because I like Ollie. Otherwise, to me she was just another bitchy blonde in the 80s JLA. (Much as I love the JLI, Dinah was not at her best there.) I wouldn't have picked up anything from BoP at all if not for liking Dinah, because Babs was a minor note in the Batman end of things for me, even though I used to pick up the 60s Batgirl comics because they were so fun. So without Ollie, I would have possibly missed out on all these great gals!

Aha! Joey's not in the patient list, so I didn't know that. Ah, well. I'd have trouble detangling him from this other RP, I suspect.

I never picked up much personality from Jenni, so I don't think I'd play her well. I shall IM you and we can discuss things! I have questions!

It's different things for different people. I've got pups in OTC only and OTC and a different community, and even a Dick who isn't in OTC but is sort of part of the general group. So we've kind of got a general group, but it's very...amorphous.

There was an interview in which the creators were surprised the fanbase had "picked up on [the gay subtext] so fast." I don't think they spend much time on the internet.

The whole point of Arthurian legend imo is that each time it's a remix. Merlin wasn't even in the original. So much has changed over the years that by this point it's a tradition to change things. *g*
