“C’mon, Rob!” Kon groaned, “stop delaying and just tell us what you called us all for! I mean, y’know we all knew that the Titans had taken over on that plane coming in tomorrow. What’s this really about?”
Well, he couldn’t put it off forever. Robin glanced at Impulse, who nodded and zipped over to him.
“Uh, we thought you ought to know,” Robin said nervously. “I mean, we’re kind of sick of hiding it. We…uh, we’re dating.”
“What?” Kon yelped, “Dating each other?”
“Yeah,” Bart said, grinning. “Isn’t it great?”
“You’re…you’re gay?” Kon asked.
“Nah,” Bart said, “it’s person specific for me. I like Rob.”
Robin smiled. “We just thought you guys should know. It doesn’t change anything, of course.”
“You just wanted to tell all of us that the two of you are fragging around?” Lobo asked.
“Doesn’t fragging mean killing?” Cissie whispered to Anita.
“Means a lot of things. Like, um, kissing,” Anita said.
“This is a waste of my time. I’ve got places to be, bastiches to frag.” Lobo stalked out.
“I always knew it,” Cissie said. “Bart, you weren’t nearly as subtle stealing those kisses as you thought you were.”
“I did it in superspeed!” Bart said.
“Yeah, but Robin kept going pink and you wouldn’t be able to stop grinning. It didn’t take a genius to figure out what was happening,” Anita said.
“You- you’re all fine with this?” Kon asked.
Cassie shrugged. “Do you have any idea how many Amazons are lesbians? I mean there are only women on Themyscria! And the special trees can only do so much, what?”
Kon was staring at her with a glazed expression. “I’ve changed my mind, go ahead you two, have fun.”
“We decided that our teams shouldn’t have too many secrets. Besides you, of course,” Robin said, smiling at Suzie.
Suzie didn’t smile back. “The…the two of you are…dating?”
Robin walked up to her. “Hey, Suzie, this doesn’t change anything! I’m still your friend, and I’ll still hang out with you! It’ll be just like always.”
Suzie turned away from him. “Yeah, I guess so. But you’ll be doing things with him alone sometimes, right?”
Bart ran up to her. “I like you too, Suzie! I’m still me!”
She glared at him. Bart looked hurt. “Secret!” he whined. “We’re still friends, right? I’m not stealing Robin from you! Promise!”
She hesitated. “Well…are you sure?”
Both Robin and Bart nodded. Suzie smiled slowly. Bart grinned widely and hugged her.
“Anyways,” Robin said, “we’ll be back next weekend, of course, but Bart and I need to tell…a lot of people.”
“Flash, Batman, etcetera,” Bart added.
“You’re telling Batman that you’re dating his Robin?” Cissie said.
“Wow, I am so happy not to be you right now, Impulse,” Cassie said.
“Good luck, guys,” Kon said, “hopefully we’ll see you next week.”
“Wait,” Suzie said, “they promised they’d be back, right?”
“They’re joking, Suzie,” Anita said. “Because Batman is known to be pretty protective of Robin. Don’t worry, he wouldn’t actually hurt them. Batman’s a good guy.”
“Oh,” Suzie said, relieved.
Bart grinned. “You guys have fun doing the YJ stuff. If an emergency pops up, call!”
He grabbed Robin. “Ready?”
“Hey!” Robin said, “You don’t need to carry me! I can-”
“Thisisfaster!” Bart said, “Byeguys!”
And they were gone.

Date: 2007-11-16 11:35 pm (UTC)I lvoe h90w everyone keeps going "Oh crap, Batman might find out" but I have never seen anyone write Batman actually finding out. Honestly I think he would be okay with it, and probably knew for a long time, possibly longer than they did ^__^ THat just seems like the Batman thing to do ^__^
