Title: Sleepy Time

Characters/Pairing: Tim, Bernard
Rating: G
Word Count: 231
Prompt: 48. Light creation/control
Summary: Tim hates sunrise.
Author's Notes/Warnings: Part of JusticeVerse! Tim and Bernard are roommates here, but not actually dating. Tim's seeing Bart and Bernard's seeing Carol, actually. But that's not really important to this fic.
Tim hated the sunrise. Sunrise meant that morning was there, and he'd been patrolling and fighting all night, and that he wouldn't get more than a few hours of sleep before he had to wake up for his first class. At least he hadn't signed up for any morning classes. He'd wanted to take Criminal Justice, but it wasn't worth it to try and get up for it.
He slipped into his room. It was easier to sneak out of his room now that he was at college, especially since Bernard knew his secret, but he still used the window. It was just easier. He'd seen people wearing weirder costumes things than a Batman costume in the hallways of their dorm, but it would still raise eyebrows.
Across the room, Bernard stirred and opened his eyes. "Tim?" he said sleepily.
"Hey," Tim said, pulling off his cowl. "I'm back."
"Injuries?"
Tim shook his head. "Quiet night. Go back to sleep."
"You're not getting enough sleep."
"I never do." Tim smirked. "I'll have coffee, okay?"
"'Kay," Bernard said, dropping his head back onto his pillow.
Tim finished stripping his costume off and shoved it under the bed. He'd hide it better later. For now he had to collapse onto his bed and not get up for as long as he possibly could.
That would be...about four hours. Sometimes Tim hated his life.
Title: Not Being Dead is Pretty Cool
Fandom: DCU
Characters: Kon/Steph
Word Count: 322
Rating: G
Summary: Kon and Steph aren't dead! Yay!
Author's Notes:
second_batgirl and I discovered we had a mutual love of Kon/Steph, and, well, I was inspired!
"Hey!" Kon shouted.
Spoiler turned around. "Superboy? I thought you were dead."
Kon shrugged. "You're Spoiler, right? Robin's girlfriend? Thought you were dead."
"Yes, not anymore, and I'm not," Spoiler said. "Basically, Dr. Thompkins decided that just because I screwed up meant I had to get out of Gotham and lie to everyone I know so that I could...I don't know, be safe in Africa."
"Africa? That's so cool!" Kon said.
"What about you?"
"Me? Dude, Kryptonians don't die. They get beaten to a bloody pulp then sunbathe until better. Being in a grave made that process kinda really hard. And the half Kryptonian thing meant it would take a long time no matter what."
"Well, good to see you're back. Guess Wonder Girl'll be happy."
Kon rubbed the back of his neck. "Actually, she's with Supergirl now. It's like she was replacing me."
"Well, Robin's with his friend Bernard. His blond haired, blue eyed friend. All he needs are boobs and a purple cloak and he could be me!"
Kon snorted. "Doubt that. You were that girl Robin I fought, right?"
Spoiler nodded. "Yeah...it was a mistake for me to do that. Should have stuck with being Spoiler. Robin's clearly a boy's club."
"No, it's cool." Kon smirked at her. "Costume looked hotter on you than it ever did on Tim. And I like that you took that risk. Must be hard working with the Bat."
"Lucky I've got this full face mask," Spoiler said. "I'm totally blushing under it."
"Heh," Kon smirked. "So...you're not with Rob anymore? Seeing anyone?"
"I'm off patrol in fifteen minutes. Meet me for coffee?"
"Sounds like fun. See you then, Spoiler."
"Call me Steph," Spoiler said, pulling off her mask.
Kon grinned. "Only if you call me Kon."
Steph laughed. "Deal."
In the distance, someone screamed.
"Want a lift?" Kon asked.
Steph pulled ber mask down and jumped into his arms. "Sounds fun," she said.
Title: Paying Attention

Characters/Pairing: Bernard/Tim
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 278
Prompt: 12. Enhanced smell
Summary: Tim can notice things he didn't when he was Robin
Author's Notes/Warnings: The prompt is a stretch...
Not being Robin was...weird.
It meant that during classes that were too easy for him, Tim couldn't zone off and think about unsolved crimes. He had to focus on something else.
Like Bernard. He was always staring at Tim, always touching him, always flirting.
Tim couldn't believe he hadn't seen it before. Bernard was in love with him.
That, of course, led to the question of what he should do about it. Tim's dad was still not enthusiastic about Tim being anywhere out of his sight, but there was a party Bernard had invited him to attend. Jack was hardly an easy sell, but Tim promised that he wasn't going to do anything dangerous.
Parties with beer were dangerous, maybe, but an entirely different kind of danger. A danger that would make it easier for Tim to get up the courage to grab Bernard's hand from where it had been resting on his knee. Bernard looked up at him, eyes wide, and let Tim kiss him.
After what was either a few seconds or several days, Tim pulled back.
Bernard touched his lips wonderingly.
"Is this okay?" Tim asked. He didn't think he'd misread the signs, but it was always possible.
Bernard nodded slowly and smiled. "You...all this time?"
Tim shrugged and blushed.
Bernard wrapped his arms around Tim's shoulders. "Why did you wait?" he asked, lips brushing Tim's cheek.
Tim kissed him again. He couldn't explain that he hadn't noticed before. It would lead to questions about why.
And Tim didn't want Bernard to know that given the choice, he'd go back to how it was. Even if that meant losing...whatever it was that they were starting.

Characters/Pairing: Dick/Roy, Lian
Rating: G
Word Count: 251
Prompt: 46. Healing of others
Summary: Lian and Dick want more ice cream. Roy says no.
Author's Notes/Warnings: The prompt is a stretch... Because after
second_batgirl's angsty drabble, I felt the need for some fluff.
"Daddy! Can I have more ice cream?" Lian whined.
"No, sweetie," Roy said. "You already had some."
"But I want some!"
"You can't always get what you want," Dick said, taking another bite of his.
"Uncle Dick has more ice cream!" Lian whined. "Daddy, why did he get more than me?"
"He didn't," Roy said. "He's just a slow ice cream eater. It was the same, I promise."
"Mmm," Dick said, licking his spoon.
"But Daddy! It's not fair!" Lian said.
"Don't worry," Roy said, whisking Dick's bowl away. "Uncle Dick's done with his ice cream."
"Hey!" Dick said. "I was enjoying that."
"You can't always get what you want," Roy said. "And if you want any later, you'll behave."
Lian pouted. "If he wants some later? Are you guys going to have ice cream without me?"
"No," Roy said. "We're talking about something else."
"Crime fighting," Dick prompted. "Roy was asking if I wanted to see his shaft."
"And I'm pretty close to deciding Uncle Dick will never, ever, ever get to see my shaft," Roy said. "Come on, Lian, time for your bath." He shot a glare at Dick as he led Lian upstairs.
Dick smirked at him. As soon as he and Lian were out of sight, he grabbed his bowl of ice cream from the sink. After a moment's thought, he added another scoop from the carton.
Roy was wrong. He could get what he wanted. Especially if what he wanted was delicious, delicious chocolate ice cream.

Date: 2008-09-15 06:10 am (UTC)Tim and Bernard make great room mates, whether or not they're dating. Marvelous.
And Dick? Can certainly get what he wants!
I'm kind of falling asleep. Might comment more later.

Date: 2008-09-15 04:51 pm (UTC)Bernard deserves some attention...
You must read Casstoons, (http://cass-cult.deviantart.com/) then, because that is where I first saw the pairing. The earlier ones are kind of crappy artwise but they're pretty good now.
Basically, Kon was a head in a jar (on top of a mannequin) and Steph was a sewn-up scarecrow body (like Sue Dibny in 52), with Tim being all "OH CONNER IS DEAD" and Cass being similar with Steph. Then they left their dead friends in a room together. And the two dead people, neither of which ever spoke at all, fell in love. Now Kon's a robot with Kon's head and Steph's back to life. And they're engaged!
Seriously, I love that comic.
